Tyler's 2 Month Checkup

Tyler had his 2 month checkup and shots yesterday. Developmentally Ty passed with flying colors. He now weighs 11 pounds and 5 ounces, which puts him in the 35% for babies his age. His height was 22.5 inches which also makes him in the 35% compared to all babies his age. Ty's head circumference was 15, which puts him in the 10th percentile. All this means he still is my "little man". He also got shots which ended up going in both his thighs and he was not happy with the lady at all and gave her the dirtiest looks ever after. That night he was back to himself; all smiles and giggles with the help of Tylenol. I am so glad to have such a happy well adjusted baby. He is just perfect!

Some Pics Over the Weeks

The Whirlwind

Tyler has kept me so busy lately that I haven't been able to keep everyone as updated as I would like. About a week ago he has started laughing when he smiles, which is so funny to hear. He also now will reach out for toys and his favorites are Ollie the octopus and Leo the Lion. He also likes Dr. Moocow. Yes Jerry named the animals and it has stuck. Also something I found amusing is that Tyler recognizes his daddy's voice on the phone and will start cooing to him and smiling as he kicks like crazy. Tyler is also more awake up to three hours at a time, which means less hygiene on my part.

Eating and sleeping wise is still the same eating every three hours during the day and if I am lucky up to 5 hours at night. I am just waiting to make it to 6 hours. He is now wearing three month clothes for shirts but the pants are still too big.

Also this week Tyler became a bodily function tornado. First he spit up on his shirt so I changed him. Then he had a major blowout so I changed his clothes again. Lastly after all that redressing over hours he did the mother load of spit up and I left him naked to play and as you can see by the pics HE LOVED IT!!

My Longhorns

Everyone knows how much a Texas Longhorn fan Jerry and Matt are well they already have Tyler on the Bevo band wagon! Of course when Jerry and I went to Texas for our "baby moon" our little man acquired tons of Texas gear such as t-shirts, slippers, socks, bibs, and onsies. So this weekend he finally became big enough for 0-3 mon clothes and the camera was a snappin'!

Tummy Time

Tyler received a tummy time matt from his Grammie when he was born. At first he would just look at us and do nothing except when he was officially put on his tummy. He would then do 10 "push ups", spit up, and then cry or just go to sleep. Well times have changed and he is enjoying it now. When I put him down he automatically gets excited and starts kicking his legs and moving all around when he hears the music. Today though he realized there was a mirror and he could see something(himself) and started smiling like crazy. He also started hitting the toys that hang down with his hands. Tyler seems to like exploring all the dangling things more than the lights now. I am so excited for that but sad also because he is no longer a newborn. I can't wait to see what he will be doing tomorrow!!

New to Blogging

I thought this would be a great way for all our friends and family to see what we as a family are doing in our life no matter where they live. As everyone knows, Jerry, Matt, and I welcomed Tyler Lee Morton to the family on January 26th at 1035PM. He is now 5 weeks old and is exploring the world and expanding our lives every day. We just couldn't be any happier.

Since he was born life has been a so fast paced. Jerry, Tyler, and I are now staying in the lovely city of Homestead, Fl while Jerry works. Matt is taking care of our crazy cats, Jack and Zoey. So while Jerry works I get to stay in a dorm like room with the baby and watch him change daily. Tyler is now becoming more alert and interactive. He is smiling at us and starting to realize he has hands at times. On two separate occasions he has rolled from his tummy to back, and then given us a goofy smile. He also loves showering with his daddy, unfortunately though his belly button is open again so we are back to sponge baths. At night time he only awakens 1-2 times after midnight, but can be awake and eat for up to 2 hours. I have learned so much about being a mother already, but each day I am confronted with a different challenge. I am blessed though with Jerry and friends who help me out or just let me know I am doing great in my developing role of mommy.

In the end, I hope everyone enjoys seeing us grow as a family and is entertained by all my stories. Hopefully I will learn how to add pictures and make it pretty too.
